The Challenge
Tenpin identified a prime town centre location—a disused Argos warehouse—as the perfect site for their next entertainment complex. The empty industrial space needed complete transformation into a state-of-the-art leisure facility featuring 21 bowling lanes alongside two bars, laser tag, indoor mini golf, and restaurants.
The project required working within the constraints of an existing building structure while creating a modern, high-tech bowling experience that would anchor this ambitious multi-use development.
The Solution
MJH Events managed the complete bowling installation for this new-build commercial bowling centre. We designed and installed 21 lanes of premium white synthetic full-glow lanes, each equipped with fully automatic bumper rails and advanced LED lighting systems.
Our team supplied and fitted new string pinsetter machines, precision ball returns, custom seating, and all associated equipment including bumpers, gutters, cappings, and a complete inventory of balls, pins, and shoes. Working as the main bowling contractor, we coordinated with architects and builders to integrate the bowling infrastructure seamlessly into the building’s design.
The installation required laying new foundations and implementing cutting-edge scoring systems, transforming the raw warehouse space into a sophisticated entertainment venue.
The Results
Sheffield now boasts a landmark leisure destination in its town centre. The 21-lane bowling centre serves as the centrepiece of a thriving entertainment complex that has revitalised a previously empty commercial property.
The high-tech installation—with its striking full-glow lanes and modern LED lighting—creates an immersive bowling experience that appeals to both casual bowlers and serious league players. The reliable string pinsetter technology reduces maintenance costs while ensuring consistent performance.
