The Challenge
Nigeria’s leisure industry is expanding rapidly as middle-class growth drives demand for entertainment venues. A multi-use leisure centre in Lagos identified bowling as a key attraction—but sourcing quality equipment and expert installation in West Africa presents unique logistical challenges.
The project required shipping containerised equipment from the UK to Nigeria, navigating customs and import processes, and delivering installation expertise to a market where bowling infrastructure is still developing.
The Solution
MJH Events proved our international capability by managing this complex bowling installation from start to finish. We containerised and shipped all equipment directly from the UK to Lagos, handling the logistics that many competitors can’t manage.
Our team installed 4 lanes of synthetic string pinsetter bowling, including new bumpers, automatic systems, gutters, cappings, ball returns, complete foundation work, new scoring systems, and full equipment sets. Working with two MJH employees coordinating local labour, we ensured the installation met the same standards we deliver across Europe.
The project required adapting to local conditions while maintaining uncompromising quality standards—sourcing reliable power systems, training local staff on equipment operation, and ensuring every component could be maintained long-term in the Nigerian market.
The Results
Lagos now has a fully operational 4-lane bowling facility that serves as one of the city’s premier entertainment destinations. The installation demonstrates MJH Events’ unique ability to deliver bowling projects in challenging international markets.
