The Story
Some client relationships span projects. The best ones span decades. Our partnership with Queens Bowl London tells the story of how MJH Events grows alongside our clients, supporting their evolution from initial installation through multiple transformations.
1995: The Foundation
Martin Hunt installed the original 12-lane bowling centre in the mid-1990s, working within the unique challenge of converting half of a large ice skating rink. The innovative approach split the space, creating bowling lanes that would broaden the venue’s appeal and open new revenue streams while maintaining the ice skating that customers loved.
Early 2000s: The Upgrade
As technology advanced, we returned to upgrade all 12 lanes to synthetic surfaces, improving durability and reducing maintenance requirements. This wasn’t just equipment replacement—it was about keeping Queens Bowl competitive as London’s entertainment landscape evolved.
2017: The Extension
The relationship reached its pinnacle with a striking 6-lane extension for MeatLiquor London’s branded private bowling concept. Working closely with the restaurant brand, we designed and installed lanes with custom red theming that seamlessly integrated with MeatLiquor’s bold aesthetic.
This phase included LED lighting, synthetic glow lanes, new bumpers and gutters, string pinsetters, and complete ball return systems—all coordinated to create a cohesive branded experience that elevated both the bowling and dining offer.
The Impact
Over 20+ years, Queens Bowl has transformed from a single-purpose ice rink into one of London’s most diverse entertainment destinations. The bowling installations have been central to this evolution, increasing dwell time, attracting broader audiences, and creating multiple revenue opportunities.
The MeatLiquor extension demonstrates how modern bowling centre refurbishment can integrate with hospitality brands, creating premium experiences that command higher prices and appeal to sophisticated London audiences.
This long-term partnership showcases MJH Events’ ability to support clients through multiple growth phases, adapting our expertise to meet changing market demands while maintaining the reliability that keeps venues operating year after year.
